In 2025 AWP trialed a number of training sessions on a weekly basis, delivered by top end coaches aimed at personal development for players in the region. The feedback was very positive, and as a result we are expanding these sessions in 2026.

Justin Pickering (NZ Men’s u18 Assistant Coach), Jackson Wiggans (NZ Junior Men’s Assistant Coach), Zach Martin (NZ Junior Men Goalkeeper) will be coaching these sessions, with additional, top end coaches to be confirmed. 

The sessions are open to players born 2010/2011 (2012s will be considered on a case-by-case basis), male and female. The goal is for our coaches to help the players towards making NZ selections in the (near) future, developing skills, technique and tactical capability- for both field players as well as goalies. 

The location and dates for the sessions will be as follows:

2 May, 13:30-15:00 @ Sacred Heart College

9 May, 12:30-14:00 @ Sacred Heart College

16 May, 13:30-15:00 @ Sacred Heart College

6 June, 14:00-15:30 @ Diocesan

20 June, 14:00-15:30 @ Diocesan

27 June, 15:30-17:00 @ Diocesan

Registration Fee: $250 GST Inc, per registered individual.
