Holiday Camp 26-28 April with Lorenzo Cenci and Simon Daley

From Friday 26 April until Sunday 28 April, Auckland Water Polo will be running its first Holiday Camp for the year at Sacred Heart College. Experts Lorenzo Cenci (Goalkeeper coach for Water Polo Australia) and Simon Daley (Former Queensland Institute of Sport Head Coach) will be in Auckland to run specialized sessions for kids registered from all over New Zealand.

Lorenzo will be back for a second year in a row. Having run the highly successful Goalkeeper specific camp in July 2023 for Marist, Lorenzo is very excited to be coming back again and continue the development of some of NZ’s finest young goalkeepers. Lorenzo’s background as former Italian professional water polo player, coach at the Western Australia Institute of Sport and Water Polo Australia make him one of the most experienced goalkeeper coaches in the Southern Hemisphere.

For Simon, this will be the first time running a specialized camp in New Zealand. NZ is not foreign territory for Simon, having played in (and won) the National League with Maranui (Wellington). Simon represented South Africa at international level, and also won the Australian National League. After retiring, Simon became the head coach at the Queensland Institute of Sport, and head coached various youth/junior Australian teams. Simon has 30+ years of coaching under his belt and is very excited to be able to share some if his expertise with the players registered for the upcoming camp.

All spots for the camp are currently filled, however if you are interested in entering someone into the Holiday Camp, please contact Fabian on fabian@aucklandwaterpolo.co.nz directly. We’re all very excited for the upcoming camp!!
